A few years ago I rented a booth in a local vintage market. Once I set up everything in its place, and saw how colorful everything was it was easy to name my business.

I love color! Everyone needs a little color in their life, especially in their home. Colors have a profound effect on our mood and emotions. I tell everyone to surround themselves with things and colors that they love, regardless of what the current decorating trends and styles are. My cottage home is very colorful and it makes me happy!

I previously owned two businesses, Archer Fitness Consultants, Inc and Pamela's Event Design. I retired from both in 2015. The Colorful Cottage had gained steam and I was ready to "piddle" in my home workshop. The piddling has grown so fast, but I am loving it! It brings me joy to salvage these beautiful, imperfect pieces of history, transform them, and give them new life. I am very passionate about what I do.

I am married and the mother of three adult daughters. My husband and I have two grandchildren we dote on. I live in the Appalachian mountains of Tennessee, about an hour and a half away from The Great Smoky Mountains. I am a published author and have my hands in lots of things.
